The Mansfields Summer Of Exploring
If you’ve been following me on Instagram this summer, you might have seen some exploring that we’ve been doing—both here at home and around the province. With a toddler (or should I say pre-schooler!) in the house, we wanted to spend as much time exploring and appreciating our city this summer as possible! The Explore Like A Tourist challenge certainly helped us get out the door and it’s been such an awesome summer sharing with all of you!
Even though we explore and discover things around our city on the regular, we also loved all the suggestions of places to visit outside the city limits. Being from Cape Breton and my husband from the South Shore, we always have opportunities to get into the more rural areas of our province to find the hidden gems.
Along with visiting family, we also made time to visit the Valley. We usually head there for pumpkin season, but it was nice to change things up and see it during the summer instead.
Here are some restaurants, beaches, and parks we discovered or re-discovered in the city this summer:
Dartmouth Commons
Morash Park
Birch Cove Beach
Cowbay Moose
Morris Lake
Graham grove park
The fair
Outside of HRM:
Graves Island Provincial Park & Big Red’s Pizza (Chester)
Summerville
West Side Kwikway
Hank Snow Playground
Beach Meadows
Lookoff
Wow, what a summer! I’m happy to have these memories of the summer before our little one goes off to school!
Did you get a chance to explore this summer? What was your favourite experience?
Until next time,
Kerra
