Summer Nights With J Farwell Sailing On The Halifax Waterfront
Summer is officially here, so it’s time for fun in the sun! Fun on land and, most importantly, on the water! Growing up on the Atlantic Ocean, along the world-famous Cabot Trail in Cape Breton, I have always been a water lover. A natural fish, as they say—I am happiest when in the water, on the water, or near the water.
When J Farwell Sailing Co reached out to see if hubby & I wanted to see what’s changed for the Sunset Wine & Cheese Sail, we were thrilled to accept. I mean, a night with J Farwell while our little one is away for the week? Hells YES! I practically jumped for joy to go sailing with them again.
It just so happened that we also had a Bertossi Group Gift Card burning a hole in my pocket, so we took the opportunity to stroll the waterfront and share a meal at Ristorante A Mano before heading out on our sail.
Talk about a perfect date night!
From the minute we got onto the J Farwell boat, we had a blast! From great conversations with the staff, laughing with the other guests, and tasting delicious wine from local wineries (Blomidon Winery, Grand Pre Winery and Benjamin Bridge) to munching on the deliciously artistic charcuterie board by Bougie Box Charcuterie—I couldn’t imagine a better date night!

About the Sunset Wine & Cheese Tour
This is truly the perfect way to enjoy your evening! This tour includes four sampling glasses of wine perfectly paired with local cheese boards with other drinks available for purchase. As part of this tour, we enjoyed a motor sail down the narrows of the Northwest Arm and got to see some of the beautiful homes as the sun sets. The J Farwell staff catered to our every need while we enjoyed the beautiful coastline along the Halifax harbour during this 2.5-hour tour offered by J Farwell Sailing.
We were scheduled to depart at 6:30 pm, giving us plenty of time to book an early or late dinner on the waterfront. The price of this tour is $160 per adult, but you can also purchase all 12 tickets to make it a private experience for $144 a person instead.
